Our Story

Kids Connect Charitable Fund was founded in 1998 to focus on finding new approaches to treat sick kids. We began by raising  in our first year about twenty thousand dollars for pediatric cancer research.

From that modest beginning, Kids Connect has grown to an important player in assisting the development of new and innovative treatments for hard-to-treat diseases. Kids Connect is also active in funding a variety of medical and educational programs to benefit kids, and others who face the same issues.

The Epilepsy Therapy Project is a hugely successful effort of Kids Connect to help the development of new treatments for epilepsy. In the video, you’ll see Dr. Orrin Devinsky explain that five of the ten new drugs in development for epilepsy are there because of the efforts of Kids Connect via its Epilepsy Therapy Project. We are extremely proud of this accomplishment.

We’re All-Volunteer

We pride ourselves on being virtually all-volunteer run, and operating an extremely efficient organization. In 2011, over 99% of our expenditures went to programs and grants. Because we have volunteers, we spent nothing on management, fundraising, legal or accounting.
